Neither in the South Pearl nor in any other sites of southern Cuba there are animals that could become a threat to the life of human beings.
In the Guamuhaya massif, ecotourism has a privileged place, with the highest point in the central region of the country -San Juan peak, rising to a height of 1 150 metres above sea level.
Here visitors have many opportunities for hiking, bathing in natural swimming pools, waterfalls and rivers, among other options, without the danger of being attacked by animals which abound in other world regions.
